Getting to the top of South East Asia

A foodstall on Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo

I'm sitting in a foodstall eating barbeque prawns, drinking tiger beer and watching the sun set... Kota Kinabalu (KK) is possibly my favorite spot in south east Asia. The city of KK sits on the coast of Sabah, facing west over the South China sea. The sunsets here are just amazing, their shifting colors reflected by the seas. Anyone who finds themselves in Sabah really must go for a seafood dinner beside the coast at around sunset. The amazing view is matched by the delicious, fresh, cheap seafood.

'They were beautiful, the most beautiful skies as a matter of fact... The sunsets were, purple and yellow and red and on fire, and the clouds would catch the colors everywhere...'
